In 1905, families living in Amarillo established the Palo Duro Club, an area located at the head of Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo, TX, where a collection of homes make up a social and recreational club. With Georgia O’Keefe being a frequent visitor in the early 20th century, the club offered people looking to escape West Texas heat a place to go for weekend getaways or family vacations, and it still does to this day.
The Palo Duro Club is located in Randall County and offers a variety of activities and amenities for members and their guests, such as a fitness center, dining hall, tennis courts, and a golf course. The club provides recreation opportunities and space for weddings and other celebrations in the scenic Palo Duro Canyon landscape.
