The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a benefit program by the Federal Communications Commission that is designed to provide Internet service to homes that qualify for the program at no cost or a discounted rate. This is to ensure residents living in a home that qualifies for the ACP can carry out daily tasks and activities relating to school, work, or anything else requiring an Internet connection. AW Broadband is excited to offer this program to customers seeking it out. We are proud to be able to offer affordable Internet to both new and current customers who are eligible. How this government program works is by providing up to a $30 subsidy each month for the customers that qualify to assist in the payment of Internet.

Do You Qualify for the ACP?

In order to be eligible to participate in this Federal program, the total income for a household must be at or less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. If one member of the home meets one of the following criteria, your household could potentially qualify for the ACP. Check to see if you qualify here on the USAC website.

Eligibility Factors

At least one resident in the household enrolling in the ACP must be a participant in at least one of the following:

The National School Lunch Program or the School Breakfast Program
SNAP
Medicaid
Federal Public Housing Assistance
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

Lifeline program
Federal Pell Grant
Those who live on Qualifying Tribal lands and receive assistance from one of these programs are also eligible for an even greater benefit:

What is the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)?

The EBB program that is no longer in place was created to give relief to families that struggled financially during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing discounted or free Internet services to households that qualified. ACP was created as a longer-term program, so these benefits could be extended beyond the time period of the pandemic. As a result, members of the program receive a $30 credit toward an Internet plan of their choosing.

How does it work?

While several people in one household may potentially qualify for the ACP program, this benefit cannot be used by multiple residents regardless of their eligibility. The benefit is not transferable to another individual or household but can be used if you switch Internet Service Providers. Plans that accommodate this benefit can be modified to match regular rates provided the account holder de-enrolls, loses eligibility, begins service using a different provider without first canceling their plan with AW Broadband or the program is terminated. If you would like more information, please visit the USAC website.
